Friday morning’s President’s Address followed by the Opening Session “The Changing Healthcare Environment: Finding the Right Fit for the Diabetes Specialist” in Exhibit Hall A will inspire and educate you as you kick off your AADE18 journey. Join your colleagues at 7:30 am to hear AADE President Donna Ryan, MPH, RN, RD, CDE, FAADE, share her thoughts on the state of the association followed by Robert Gabbay, MD, PhD, FACP of the Joslin Diabetes Center as he describes the pathophysiological defects and natural history of type 2 diabetes, discusses the clinical and individual specific considerations for the selection of add-on therapy in people not achieving glycemic control on metformin, and outlines the benefits and risks of various classes of antihyperglycemic agents including SGLT-2 inhibitors.

Education this Evening
Supported by an unrestricted educational grant provided by Boston Scientific, “ED Education Hits and Misses: Preparing for those Tough Conversations” will familiarize educators with an interactive outline diagnostic and informational tool they can use with people with diabetes-related Erectile Dysfunction (ED). This program, which begins at 6:00 pm Friday in the Key Ballroom 12, Level 2 of the Hilton Baltimore Hotel is for one continuing education credit. Light refreshments will be served.
