Are You Up to Speed?

Supported by an unrestricted education grant provided by Sanofi and jointly provided by the American Association of Diabetes Educators and Medscape Education, “Strategies to Improve Adherence to Insulin FDC in Patients with TD2: Are You Up to Speed?” will offer safety and efficacy data for new injectable fixed-dose insulin combination therapeutic regimens and will describe barriers related to effective insulin use in T2D management. Learn how to interpret when and how to manage T2D with new fixed-dose insulin combination regimens. The session takes place from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm tonight in the JW Grand Ballroom 1-5, Level 3 at the JW Marriott Hotel. Doors open at 5:15 pm for this first come, first served event worth 1.5 CE credits.

Zeroing In on A1C Targets

Designed to help educate healthcare professionals about strategies associated with optimal basal insulin utilization in patients with type 2 diabetes, tonight’s corporate symposium “Zeroing In on A1C Targets: Pinpointing the Optimal Basal Insulin Strategy in Every Patient with Type 2 Diabetes” will take place at 6:00 pm in the JW Marriott-Grand Ballroom 6-10. Doors open at 5:15 pm for this first come, first served event.

Speakers will review the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes and the effects of insulin therapy on the underlying mechanisms of this disease and describe the underlying causes of clinical inertia and psychological insulin resistance as it relates to initiation and/or intensification of insulin and strategies to mitigate these effectors. Additionally, the presenters will compare and contrast current guideline recommendations for the initiation and intensification of insulin therapy with a focus on basal insulins and then nalyze strategies to overcome limitations of traditional basal insulins, including optimal dosing, timing and titration of therapy as well as.
An audience response system will be utilized presenting questions to the learners for their responses, followed by faculty discussion, reinforcing ideal methods of patient and disease management from each of their perspectives.
