Opening Session Starts Your Morning off Right

This morning’s President’s Address followed by the Opening Session “Knowing What to Eat, Refusing to Swallow It” in Exhibit Hall F will inspire and educate you as you kick off your AADE17 journey. Join your colleagues at 7:30 am to hear AADE President Nancy D’Hondt, RPh, CDE, FAADE, share her thoughts on the state of the association followed by David Katz, MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP, Founding Director (1998) of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and President, American College of Lifestyle Medicine discussing ways to turn the tide on the epidemic of obesity and how to apply the skills of detecting marketing deceptions while learning to teach clients to identify and choose healthful foods.

Education this Evening

Supported by an unrestricted educational grant provided by Boston Scientific, “Diabetes and ED: Your Role in Helping Couples Cope – Candid Conversations with Couples Who Have Conquered ED” will familiarize educators with an interactive outline diagnostic and informational tool they can use with patients with diabetes-related Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Educators also will learn how to identify and treat ED-related emotional issues by observing three couples and an ED treatment specialist/CDE who will share their ED related experiences. This program, which begins at 6:00 pm today in the White River Ballroom A-E, Level 1 of the JW Marriott Hotel is for one continuing education credit. Light refreshments will be served.
